James ~ In my time at the New Life Community, I have gotten my driver’s license back, opened a bank account, and started my own IT consulting business. I am also working toward fulfilling my dream of starting a Rescue Mission. While here, I have also found a sense of community, and a new direction and purpose in my life.
Derek ~ While at the New Life Community I have opened a bank account and acquired a job. I am also involved with children’s ministry again and pursuing a career as a chef, both lifelong passions of mine. More importantly I have been exposed to the real love of my Savior, Jesus Christ without whom there would be no me or NLC. I have been taught many things about character through stretching and crushing. I know I have along road ahead but I am not alone. Isaiah 58:11. I would not trade my life for anyone else’s.
Robert ~ In my short time at the New Life Community I have returned to school and I have been able to begin working toward fulfilling my vision of starting a non-profit organization. I have also experienced union with God and have found an accepting, loving family. John 17:26.
Neal ~ When I first came to Seattle, I was sleeping in my car beneath the viaduct. I was alone in the world, and I was trying to make things different, through some sort of geographical magic. As I moved east and west across the states my resources got stretched thinner and thinner and my ability to pretend what I was doing was normal wore just as thin. Everywhere I went my life hurt. On more than one occasion all hope was gone. Four years earlier I had lost my mother, brother, and sister within a year. It was at the New Life Community that I first began to grieve. I cried for the first time since everyone began to die. This is where the healing began for me. I am now a full time student, studying Human Services. I look forward to sharing Christ’s love the same way it was shared with me here.
